PETRA Winery
We planted the vineyard with the best vine clones, 6,250 vines on each hectare. They are expertly planted „in apple-pie order“. In front of each trellis, there are wooden posts with a prominent label of the variety and nurtured clones adapted to the PH values and characteristics of our soil, the winery’s coat of arms, the year of planting and the number of trellises. Roses at the beginning of each row are an indicator of health and an elegant decoration of the vineyard.
SUBOTICA REGION

vinograd - tabla
The land is rich in clay and loam with an excellent PH factor and high-quality humus, which enable the proper development of the vines. Climatic conditions are favourable for cultivating high-quality grape varieties, with numerous sunny days and gentle winds that constantly ventilate the vineyard and thus prevent the development of diseases and other harmful effects on the vine. Temperature differences and microclimate throughout the growing season contribute to proper ripening and maturing of all key factors, thus obtaining the full phenolic ripeness of the berries themselves.

Drainage is provided in each row, with strict care being taken to ensure an even and controlled grape yield. The clusters are lightweight, 100-120 grams, and each berry contains approximately equal phenolic constituents and organoleptic compounds. The vineyard trellises are completely flat, adjusted so that each cluster is equally exposed to the sun, wind and rain. On average, there are 6,250 vines per one hectare of vineyard. Annual production ranges from 15 to 20,000 bottles of wine. Every other trellis (alternate trellis is also OK) is covered by grass in order to completely prevent and neutralize unwanted weed and contribute to a controlled low and uniform yield of grapes.

"Organic wines require much more attention and effort, both in the vineyard and the cellar, and in the winery as a whole. The work results in high wine quality standards..."

EUROPEAN AND SERBIAN

C e r t i f i c a t e s

Due to the good vineyard location and coordinated external factors, its maintenance is almost entirely done naturally. The transition to organic vineyard protection officially began in 2018, and after a three-year conversion period in 2021, the vintage received a domestic and European organic wine certificate.

PROTECTION

V i n e y a r d

Vineyard protection is carried out exclusively by organic methods – without pesticides and herbicides, blue stone and treatment exclusively with organic fertilizers and beneficial bacteria that help maintain the vitality of plants. Hydrogen peroxide is used for disinfection vineyards, and ozonated water in the winery.

CIRcULAR

B i o e c o n o m y

Maintenance involves careful pruning, supervision and care by organic certification methodology, application of the circular bioeconomy principle, and compliance with all standards of organic wine production for the European market.
